Job Overview - Accounting Specialist - JO# 31713

Established and growing construction company needs to add an Accounting Specialist to their team. In this role, you will prepare and maintain financial records to track clients’ assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. You must be experienced in full-cycle AP through month end and year end accrual processes. Job costing experience is ideal for this role. This individual needs to be a self starter, able to analyze and take ownership of their clients accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Performs general accounting for assigned clients.
• Maintains and reconciles the general ledger.
• Job costing
• Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, post payroll accrual, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; assists accounts receivable collections.
• Post loan interest for assigned clients.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Preparation and filing of sales and use tax.

Requirements

• Knowledge of job cost accounting is ideal
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in accounting preferred or 3+ years accounting experience
• GAAP knowledge and experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Accounting software
• Able to work independently and be a self starter
