Job Description
Lithos Carbon revolutionizes the carbon capture industry through enhanced rock weathering technology. We work with farmers to spread basalt rock on farmland, which increases soil health and repurposes post-industrial waste. Our technology is aimed at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at a fraction of the cost of other methods, while helping farmers improve crop yields. Our team is made up of industry-leading academic scientists and proven entrepreneurs, backed by top-tier investors like Union Square Ventures and Greylock. We started commercializing the technology in 2022 and already signed customers for our permanent carbon removal credits including Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, and McKinsey’s Frontier program. You can read about our work in FastCompany, Axios, and on our blog.

About The Role

We’re seeking a Farm Account Manager to help source opportunities, recruit farmers, and support basalt deployments at Lithos. Our Farm Account Manager will be responsible for supporting farmers with purposeful, delightful, direct interactions while furthering the company’s mission. We are looking for folks with high empathy — with lots of farmer empathy —and who are patient, detail-oriented, and relentless in creating a world-class farmer experience.

Our ideal candidate has experience in technology, consulting, or startups and is looking for a role where they can have extraordinary impact. You love analytics and base your decisions on data. You are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing cross-functional initiatives. No task is too big or too small for you and you do what it takes to get the job done while wearing many hats.

You’d be joining as one of our very first team members and will report directly to our Head of Growth.

What success for this role looks like: You are helping us tap into new markets and channels of growth, enabling more growers to deploy volcanic rock on thousands more acres while capturing and permanently removing carbon to tackle the climate crisis. You are generating learnings for a flywheel of growth that can carry Lithos to the first million — and then billion – tons of carbon capture.

To achieve your goals, you will:

  • Find ways to accelerate growth with an eye for step-function change
  • Pursue a holistic understanding and then independently prioritize and communicate decisions
  • Communicate positively, candidly, and responsively
  • Generate a robust, geo-targeted pipeline of farmer partners to apply basalt to their land for agronomic, financial, and climate benefits
  • Lead basalt deployment with existing and new grower partners by working closely with our operations and logistics teams
  • Use your flexibility, creativity, resourcefulness, customer empathy, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills as tools for change
  • Bring your teammates along —anticipating needs from the operations, logistics, and technical side
  • Transform a no-playbook world into one with just enough process for your colleagues to replicate your successes and learn from your less-effective experiments
  • Adapt our process to work for highly unique pockets of agricultural opportunity, in collaboration with our science team

Requirements

The below represents attributes our ideal candidate possesses. We encourage all highly-qualified candidates to apply, even if they do not fulfill all the listed criteria.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in operations, supply chain management, business administration, or related field
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • Experience working with commercial farmers (or personal experiences on farms/with agtech) preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, operations, or supply chain management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

What We’re Looking For

  • You are humble and generous
  • You are excited to work with growers and are patient + responsive, empathizing with their unique perspectives
  • You have a growth mindset and a bias for action
  • You are creative and curious in identifying ways internal and external stakeholders can win together
  • You communicate with empathy, candor, and urgency
  • You thrive in ambiguity and realize there is no playbook for what we’re building. You can roll with the punches, and love creating opportunity from a blank slate
  • You practice extreme ownership (no task is too small, your word and behavior are aligned, you follow through)

Your Skills and Qualifications Include:

Benefits

  • Access to our 401k plan
