Description & Requirements Of Our Accountant

As an Accountant on our team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining our financial integrity while upholding our core values of accuracy, organization, and efficiency. Your responsibilities will span a range of essential financial functions, from recording and classifying transactions to reconciling accounts and initiating journal entries. Your keen eye for detail and adherence to deadlines will be key to your success in this fluctuating environment.

What You'll Do

• Embrace a process-oriented mindset, constantly seeking improvements and best practices.
• Collaborate with your team members to streamline transaction flow and information.
• Reconcile general ledger differences, ensuring seamless integration with various sub-ledgers.
• Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions with precision, following GAAP principles.
• Be the go-to expert for handling paper checks and maintaining task workflows.

A Couple Other Special Notes About Our Accountant

• After the training period, you can expect the flexibility to have a hybrid work model of two days from home, and three in office.
• This position requires the ability to work in person out ouf our Rockford, IL headquarters.
• This is a full-time position, with an average of 40-45 hours per week.

The Accountant Position Typically Requires The Following Qualifications

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, financial services exposure is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop alternative approaches to problems.
• Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment where problem-solving capabilities matter so can scope and structure work.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
• Our ideal candidate will need to be a self-starter, strategic thinker, and problem solver who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across teams will be essential.
• Excellent time management skills including multi-tasking and prioritization of responsibilities.
• Ability to use various accounting software applications, with preference given to experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
