Accountant - Entry Level

Description

Robert Half is looking to fill the role of an entry-level Accountant in the Retail industry. In this role, you will enter data, review financial statements, and create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets. You will report to the Accounting Manager and be part of a dynamic team with an opportunity for career growth. If you love Excel, have a positive attitude and are open to an entry-level accounting position, then this could be the job for you. For this short-term contract / contract / temporary to permanent position, you should be willing to work in Westlake, Ohio.

What you get to do every day

• Aiding in full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
• Ensuring that accounts contained in the general ledger are correct
• Aiding in audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits
• Perform data entry
• Preparing monthly journal entries
• Researching and correcting account discrepancies
• Carrying out alternate duties and taking part in special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Expertise in account reconciliation
• Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
• Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience preferred
• Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
• Adeptness in Financial Control
• Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
• Ad Hoc Reporting experience
• Solid understanding of journal entries
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of Record Keeping
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Applicants are recommended to hold an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• At minimum, 1 year of relevant accounting experience
