Job Description
Are you excited about being the driving force behind administrative functions within a renowned Music Department? Join our team as an Academic Department Coordinator and play a pivotal role in creating an exceptional environment for students, faculty, and staff.
You will work closely with the department chair to plan and coordinate administrative activities within the Music Department. Your friendly and professional demeanor will be essential as you engage with students, faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries and requests, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Organize department and committee meetings, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Serve as a liaison between faculty and students, ensuring timely and effective communication.
Manage office supplies and maintain departmental equipment, ensuring a well-functioning workspace.
Take charge of department and program budgets, tracking spending and collaborating with grants administrators on grant-related expenses.
Provide administrative support for faculty searches, including candidate file management, correspondence preparation, and logistical arrangements for on-campus or remote interviews.
Requirements
Education/Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, database, and webpage maintenance.
Enthusiasm for learning new computer applications.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and accurately.
Knowledge of bill processing and account management.
Excellent customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone.
Ability to work independently in a one-person office environment.
Preferred
Some college coursework strongly preferred.
Experience working in an academic setting.
Familiarity with music terminology and maintaining web pages and calendar software.
Knowledge of accounting software.
Work Schedule And Compensation
This is a full-time, year-round position with a friendly and flexible Monday-Friday schedule, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The hourly range for this position is $20.00 to $25.00, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
