Registered Infusion Nurse Jobs

Demonstrates proficiency in use of technical skills as required (i.e., IV therapy equipment utilization, universal precautions, body mechanics).

For New-Hires/Externals: One (1) year of acute care experience in their specialty required.

Chemotherapy infusion experience strongly desired.

Assesses appropriately patient care needs and learning needs in routine oncology patient populations.

Reviews lab diagnostic data and incorporates in assessment.

Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to maintain or improve care of Oncology patient population.

ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (in the last 6 months).

Minimum one (1) year of recent oncology infusion center or acute care oncology experience. BMT experience is highly preferred.

Must have proven independent thinking, decision making, problem solving, and prioritizing skills.

BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

3. Solid knowledge of infusion therapy techniques, equipment, and medication administration.

9. Advanced knowledge of infection control protocols and procedures.

Cooperate in the implementation of change and support management decisions.

Complete all mandatory education and regulatory requirements and participates in professional activities to enhance nursing practice.

Support department goals for formal education, national certification, national safety standards and service excellence.

Demonstrate critical thinking skills as evidenced by successful completion of change project.

Demonstrate clinical skills necessary to care for assigned patients.

Develop assessment, organizational and prioritization skills necessary to care for patients whose clinical needs change throughout the shift.

Speaks knowledgeably about Option Care’s scope of services and effectively instructs patients about related financial obligations for care and service charges.

Participates in nursing department on-call responsibilities.

Actively participates in facility process improvement program and assists Supervisor or Nurse Manager with chart audit functions as applicable.

Safety requirements include closed toe-shoes, facemask, goggles, gown and/or gloves and functioning device for communication in both routine and emergency situations.

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

Provide one-on-one home infusion nursing care visits and patient education in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment

Must have excellent written and verbal customer service skills in order to interact with the patient, physician, pharmacist and other partners

Minimum one year nursing experience; IV-related experience a plus

Have and maintain current CPR certification

Have experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Word to document and track patient care activity.

CRNI certification preferred, not required

Patient and family centered education aimed at optimizing health, wellness and disease management

BLS/CPR certification by the American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.

NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License is required

BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Ongoing Point-of-Care electronic documentation of each individual patient's assessments, plan-of-care, interventions and evaluation of rendered care

Multi-disciplinary discharging of patients to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care

Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

Tracks quality assurance data and monitors for acute and chronic care management.

Manage and monitor the Infusion center; perform blood draws as indicated; complete infusions and monitor multiple patients while they are infusing.

Knowledge of infusion medication preferred.

Maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification

Two years RN experience preferred.

Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of

14 Participates in staff meetings, education in service programs and completes required continuous training and education.

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
