Equipment Mechanic Trainee Jobs

Perform skilled equipment maintenance duties including troubleshooting and repairing automobiles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, tractors, mowers, and other heavy and light equipment.

Overhaul engines, transmissions, clutch assemblies, differentials, carburetors, fuel injection systems, hydraulic valves and pumps, and generators.

Conduct emergency repair work on vehicles and equipment in the field; transport equipment between locations as necessary.

Perform fabrication and welding to include MIG, arc, and gas welding and cutting.

Perform related duties as required.

Operations, services and activities of a fleet maintenance and repair program.

5-10 years of combined experience in mechanics and repairer trades, precision production trades

Troubleshooting or repair experience on open and closed center hydraulic systems and hydrostatic units

Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

You will be placed in a standardized skills development program.

One (1) year of experience in overhauling and maintaining equipment such as pumps, valves, turbines and other rotating equipment.

Experience working with hand tools/industrial tools, rigging, scaffolding, forklifts, coarse and precision measurement tools, etc.

Experience working in a Nuclear Power Plant

Vocational/Technical training or prior military experience

Tools and equipment capabilities, limitations, and safe operating characteristics;

Coordinates with City departments and vendors to schedule service, repair and maintenance or vehicles and equipment;

Diagnoses and troubleshoots routine problems associated with all systems including engines, fuel systems, and electrical systems;

Performs basic welding tasks for maintenance and repair;

Test drives vehicles and equipment to diagnose, verify work quality, and vehicle safety;

Services and repairs City generators and storm drain pumps;

Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines / experience with diesel, hydraulics, and electrical equipment

Knowledge of frame, chassis, and suspension systems

Rebuild, repair, and provide preventive maintenance on airport ground support equipment, vehicles, and other related equipment

Develop a preventive maintenance program

Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and modifying all GSE as required

Ensure Fuel Farm remains operational and in compliance with all local, state, and federal compliance regulations
