Responsible for the monthly NAV calculation, which includes working with asset management, treasury and accounting to obtain all the relevant inputs.

Responsible for calculating the monthly asset management fee and the performance participation allocation together with the NAV calculation.

Review legal documents, such as leases, management agreements, partnership agreements, loan documents, etc., and perform analysis for decision making, as needed.

Prepare benchmarking, trend, and variance analysis, as needed, and help develop presentations for management and/or the board of directors.

1-3 years of prior professional experience in accounting or finance and preferably in a real estate environment.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or economics

- Research and resolve inquiries for the accounting department and senior management

- Prepare periodic SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings) including schedules and supporting documentation

- Compile monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packages

- Coordinate data requests and analysis with internal and external auditors

- Prepare monthly Statement of Cash Flow

- Prepare monthly journal entries and analyses related to leases and share-based compensation

Preparation of the management reporting process for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close

Provide analytical support to the Finance teams for annual AOP and quarterly forecast processes.

Manage internal and external auditor requests.

Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, specifically)

Day to day general ledger accounting and reporting activities for Corporate Real Estate

Preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Experience with complex debt, equity and stock compensation accounting

• Hands on experience in drafting financial statements, particularly in a public company (SEC) environment

• Experience using Workiva and Shareworks software products

• Experience with M&A transactions and related accounting issues

Overall compliance with both the Canadian Securities Commission (“CSC”) and Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) reporting requirements

Minimum 8 years of experience including big 4/National accounting firm background and external financial reporting in publicly-traded companies under IFRS

Working knowledge of the differences between IFRS and US GAAP

Extensive experience of medium to large enterprise financial consolidation systems (ideally SAP BPC/BFC and/or Hyperion)

Acquisition and Disposal accounting experience preferred

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field

3-5 years in a public accounting background or equivalent industry experience

ERP experience (team is making a move from oracle to SIP currently)

Any quiring experience is a plus

Experience with a large public accounting firm (experience with SEC clients preferred)

Certified public accounting (CPA) license

Assist in meeting reporting deadlines and requirements.

3+ years of Accounting experience, preferred but will consider recent graduate.

Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, Power Query.

Experience with integrated ERP packages such as Infor, SAP, JD Edwards.

Perform transaction related general accounting activities.

Monthly reporting of results in the SKF financial consolidation system (SAP BPC).

10+ years of accounting / financial reporting experience, 3+ of those years in public accounting

Expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements with an ability to research and interpret technical accounting guidance.
