POSITION PURPOSE


  • This role will also include partner cross functionally to support other departments including Operations, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, Logistics, Tax, and Information Systems.
  • A successful candidate will live in both the big picture as well as in the details, and have a desire to help elevate the department to the next level.
  • This position performs corporate accounting duties and financial analysis in support of various accounting and business functions.
  • This will include assisting in the completion of month-end close, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.


Primary Duties / Responsibilities


  • Perform month-end close activities and variance analysis for multiple production facilities.
  • Assists with the implementation of accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls. Assist with internal/ external audit requests.
  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with other areas outside of the department to understand financial issues relevant to their functional areas.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and expense accruals Ensures the integrity of the data in the accounting system and ensures that system documentation and backup is in place.
  • Analyze product costing and profitability on a monthly basis Assist with the maintenance and improvement of processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.


Qualifications


  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.
  • Required Certification / Licenses / Training - CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with major ERP systems, preferably SAP (S4/Hana) Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Self-starting, flexible and responsive; able to make independent decisions in a fast- paced environment Passionate and curious to learn and to stretch abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and processes Proactive and willingness to take initiative to solve problems and provide solutions Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
  • Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Education / Experience / Background Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Three to five years professional experience in cost accounting or financial analysis, preferably within a manufacturing environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets (vlookups, macros, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Physical Requirements - Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
