Assists customers in finding answers to a broad range of questions using Library resources and databases

Guides customers in selecting appropriate materials for reading/viewing/listening

Assists customers with technology-related questions and issues

Plans and presents Library-related programs, events, classes, and tours

Assisting customers at their point of need

Merchandising: straightening books and displays, cleaning up, and maintaining a presentable atmosphere

Considerable knowledge of children's developmental stages from 0-12, children's literature and current trends in education.

Considerable skill in the use of a personal computer and knowledge of basic software applications.

Acts as Librarian-in-Charge or Branch Manager when needed.

Considerable knowledge of professional library principles, practices, methods, and techniques.

Knowledge of the relevant literature, trends, and developments in the field of library and information science.

Considerable skill in searching and locating information using online databases or the Internet.

Collaborates with internal core services to manage operational issues, support community goals and form strategic partnerships.

One year of experience in a library environment.

Pay: $43,700 - $51,000, based on your experience.

Maintains awareness of literature related to current best practices and future trends.

Participates in presentation and development of technology training and information literacy programs for staff and patrons.

Assists, leads, develops, implements, and/or evaluates special projects, services, and library programs.

International degrees will be evaluated to determine if they satisfy qualification requirements.

A public education institution in the State of Florida or any State or Territory of the United States; or

An institution that is accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

This position work schedule includes working nights and weekends.

Pay: $43,700 - $51,000, based on your experience.

Assists, leads, develops, implements, and/or evaluates special projects, services, and library programs.

Knowledge of elementary and secondary school educational trends.

Knowledge of child development and literacy skills.

Integrates literacy practices into customer interactions whenever possible to help develop literacy skills.

Supports the overall mission of the Library by providing customer service in a manner that creates a positive customer experience.

Knowledge of Library Science theories, principles, and practices including classification systems.

Knowledge of the Library's organization, operation, policies, and procedures.
