Obtain an American Sports Education Program (ASEP) Coaches Certification

Knowledge of the principles and skills of the game of football

Create a positive and safe learning environment where the children learn sportsmanship, fundamental football skills, team work, and responsibility

Strong oral and written communication skills

Display sportsmanship, positive attitude, and promotion of a fun atmosphere

Serve as a mentor and role model to all youth with whom you are coaching

Attends staff meetings, trainings, and obtains/maintains proper certifications; collaborates with co-workers; accessible by phone or email during shift.

Prepares and distributes program packets when applicable; communicates program information to parents and youth both regularly and as-needed through various sources.

Maintains logs for vehicle mileage and program equipment/supplies, reporting concerns of damage, maintenance, and/or repairs needed to supervisor.

Participates in the development of and/or recommends new policies and procedures to enforce and/or revise program activities, goals, and objectives.

Provides assistance in meal preparation and transportation of participants when needed.

· Experience in using constituent relationship management databases

Youth Audience Community Management (40%)

Manage and support regional communications campaigns and serve as a focal point for CEAs in developing and executing regional communications

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

· Experience implementing a data-driven approach to social media, storytelling and resource development.

Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):

Demonstrate ability to engage children in a variety of activities and make connections with help from trained staff member.

Work diligently with participants to ensure children are safe, physically and emotionally.

Be on time and fulfill all commitments. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Must wear appropriate attire, a Family Wellness Volunteer Shirt will be provided.

Supervise and assist participants with materials to ensure safety.

Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and appropriate manner.

Perform additional enumerated responsibilities of a specific volunteer role.

Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Understand and support the volunteer programs, goals, and objectives of the YMCA as a community organization.

Be familiar with, comply with, and enforce the YMCA Center for Civic Engagement Delegate Code of Conduct.

Be available for the conference for the entirety of the conference, unless there is a pre-approved conflict.

One (1) year experience in working with children is preferred.

Must have experience working with youth in a group setting and creating and implementing lesson plans.

Additionally, this person should possess the skills necessary to provide safe, appropriate and fun activities.
