Job Description

Do you love kids and want to gain experience working with them? Family Wellness would love to talk to you about volunteering in our Youth Programs!

Position Purpose:

Assist Family Wellness Staff with on-site youth programs. Supervise children to provide a safe and fun environment for all. Come learn if you have a passion for working with youths in your future career! A minimum commitment of 10 volunteer hours within 6 months of start date is preferred.

Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):

It is preferred that the incumbent has some knowledge and experience working with children. The ideal candidate is able to relate well to children and families, and is able to work as a team with other individuals. Age requirement is 15+.

  • None

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate ideas and thoughts regarding their specific program with team members.
  • Be on time and fulfill all commitments. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Work diligently with participants to ensure children are safe, physically and emotionally.
  • Must wear appropriate attire, a Family Wellness Volunteer Shirt will be provided.
  • Supervise and assist participants with materials to ensure safety.
  • Demonstrate ability to engage children in a variety of activities and make connections with help from trained staff member.
  • Assist staff members with leading activities, transitioning participants, or any additional activity support assigned.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

BLOOD EXPOSURE

This position is classified as a Category III position under OSHA guidelines with no risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials.
