Yard Maintenance Crew Member Jobs

Follows all Dinklage safety policies, procedures, and keeps up to date with safety regulations and requirements.

Performs various maintenance responsibilities in the feed yard

Six months of related experience and/or training

Maintains and performs repairs in areas of the feed yard including pen bedding ground, feed allies, bunks, and gates.

Repairs water lines, cleans, and fixes tanks.

Puts out hay and cleans up any loose hay on the ground.

Snow plowing and ice management tasks as needed.

Report any repairs or maintenance requirements to supervisor.

Work to assure quality and timely completion of all assigned task

Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner

Be sensitive and respectful of Snow and Waste Valet's equipment and customer/s property at all times.

Identify problems at the wrok site and follow through approrpriately

Technical Skills - Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.

Minimum two years’ work experience.

Use a lawn mower, sod cutters, and other tools to trim grass and edge lawn areas.

Operate backpack blower and gather leaves, hedge trimming and debris for removal.

Use pruners and trimmers to remove shrub and tree overgrowth.

Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, paths in winter.

Sets wasp and fly baitwhen needed.

Mows weeds and maintainsgrass areas.

At least one year of experience operating heavy equipment

Repairs water lines, cleans, and fixes tanks.

Puts out hay and cleans up any loose hay on the ground.

Sets wasp and fly bait when needed.

Mows weeds and maintains grass areas.

Move and/or install fences – both electric and steel

Clean and maintain water lines and water tanks

Clean and repair feed bunks and pens

Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis

Perform other related duties as assigned

Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of this position at any time.

Provides direction and training to less experienced Facilities Maintenance Personnel

Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Must comply with work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requested and completing work orders with general direction.

Mixes appropriate chemical(s) (i.e. cleaning, fertilizer, construction compounds) per manufacturer's specifications.

May perform the replacement of minor electrical devices.

Hourly position with wages based on qualifications, skills, and experience

1-2 Years of welding experience, preferred

Identifies, cleans, and maintains pens

Helps ensure continuous supply of fresh water to cattle by performing repairs to water system and tanks.

Mows grass/weeds and sweeps bunks by operating tractor/mower; replaces broken cable, clips or fence; paints or re-paints pens, building, etc.

Expected to demonstrate understanding of company policies and adapt to changes in the work environment.
