ADEQ Grade 3 certification in Water Treatment

Water Treatment Level II certification or ability to work towards certifications within a reasonable timeframe

Adjusts chemical feeders to maintain proper dosage rates.

Calibrates and standardizes analyzers and other equipment.

Calculates dosages, handles chemicals, and records production, chemical use, and compliance data.

Obtains distribution, source, process, and compliance samples as required.

Operates and tests emergency pumps and generators as required.

The Open Eligibility List will consist of external applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and successfully complete any required selection processes.

Collects grab samples at remote sites; performs various types of field water testing including chlorine residual; adjusts chemical dosage accordingly.

The hiring department will consider the Promotional Eligibility List prior to considering candidates on the Open Eligibility List.

Inspects, adjusts, and performs preventative maintenance on electrical and telemetry equipment at sites; checks connections and measures equipment output.

3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Must possess physical dexterity, good communication skills, and the ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Must be able to follow instructions and demonstrate dependable attendance.

Must be mechanically and electrically oriented with some understanding of chemistry fundamentals and the ability to learn water treatment procedures.

Able to evaluate process inputs and take proper decisive action.

Willing to accept a high level of accountability and responsibility for meeting government enforceable water cleanliness standards.

Monitors and accounts for skim oil volumes removed from saltwater disposal wells

Monitors water levels at SWD sites to ensure tanks are operating within appropriate parameters

Inspects equipment and facility operating functions and schedules equipment maintenance

Prepares and keeps accurate records on maintenance and repairs

Prepares monthly reports to track piped, trucked, and injected water volumes at company-operated facilities

Ensures facilities are clean and environmentally safe

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in science, engineering, or mathematics required. Chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or microbiology preferred.

Strong desire to learn new concepts

Operates equipment, including, but not limited to bobcat, dump truck, and hydro seeder.

Generates and completes assigned work orders and documents daily activities.

Completes inspection and/or pre-operational checklist on equipment and requests or performs preventative maintenance and cleaning.

Provides information to and assists customers.

Performs other similar duties as required

Must possess EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification (OR) have the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire

Working knowledge of, but not limited to, the following:

Participate in the review of the preventative maintenance plans, planned downtime events and early management activities related to area.

Access and utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to accurately document all maintenance activities

Assists other water treatment personnel in the performance of remote facility maintenance

Experience in the operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment plants and related facilities

5+ years of wastewater experience preferred

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception

Knowledge of the principles, laws, procedures and regulations of water and wastewater treatment

Knowledge of the biological, chemical, and physical processes of water and wastewater treatment

Knowledge and ability to operate, monitor, and maintain water and wastewater plant machinery and equipment

Knowledge of appropriate operational responses to emergency situations

Skilled in using a computer and various software applications

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

Must have the ability and willingness to perform minor equipment maintenance, housekeeping and other job duties as assigned.

Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communications skills.

Knowledge of the principles, practice, equipment and methods used in water treatment

Knowledge of chemistry as applied to water treatment; Knowledge of laboratory procedures
