3+ years’ experience in editorial project management on books, preferably in adult trade publishing

Solid copyediting and proofreading skills with strong knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style

Manages reprint corrections and paperback editions

Strong computer/MS Word skills and familiarity with databases and Adobe Acrobat and Kindle Previewer

Knowledge of electronic copyediting and styling and PDF markup

🔍 Job Title: Video Production Specialist

💰 Compensation: $22-$25 per hour

Hire and manage freelance copyeditors and proofreaders as needed.

Three (3) years of work or academic experience in production editorial or copyediting.

Strong organization and planning skills.

Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills, with both inside and outside collaborators, stakeholders, and team members.

Prepare and maintain product files in Scholastic databases.

Prepare and maintain product specification sheets.

Above-average capacity for organization, time management, and multi-tasking, along with the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously

Manages the production of 60-100 titles of digital, online, and print content per year

Prioritizes project workflow and manages multiple projects in order to meet deadlines

Tracks project costs and communicates to production manager when projects surpass budget goals

Identifies potential freelance candidates; gauges skillsets; evaluates rates and bids; and coordinates onboarding, communicating feedback to new contractors

Experience with academic publishing workflows and comfortable working within an expanding digital workflow system

Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Knowledge of media production and direction, script writing, and the operation of video production equipment sufficient to create quality video programs.

Knowledge of advanced computer technology, and ability to develop advanced original designs.

Operates both IBM and Macintosh computers with word processing, communications, database, graphics, video editing, and other special effects software.

Directs the production of a wide variety of mediated materials (e.g., audio tapes, video tapes, and self-paced instructional materials, etc.).

Writes, produces and directs programs using computer graphics, sound, and imaging video images.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Have 2+ years of editing and production experience

Edit video packages for Seahawks platforms

Assist in packaging video content for social media

Facilitate quality assurance of video content

Work with internal and external stakeholders on digital media projects

· Migrate video footage and oversee operation of a tape and retrieval system.

· Create graphics and show opens using Photoshop and After Effects

· Troubleshoot equipment and software as necessary.

Minimum of three years’ experience in a production editorial environment or equivalent editing and project management experience

Excellent copyediting, proofreading, and organizational skills

Previous experience working on complex nonfiction books a plus

Works on and reviews all phases of text from manuscript through blues (copyedits, proofreads, reviews all freelanced work, etc.)

Handles book production from copyedit through finished product, including eBooks

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

A minimum of two years of relevant publishing experience; preferably as copyeditor, production editor, or manuscript editorial project manager.

Experience with remote work environments.

Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition and experience following editorial style guides and copyediting marks.

Excellent written communication skills and ability to be reliable, tactful, and diplomatic.

Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Bachelor’s degree in photography, video, or arts or equivalent combination of education and experience with knowledge of video editing

Expertise and knowledge of cameras, mics, lighting, sound, and other necessary equipment

Experience with shooting and editing videos for YouTube and social media

Knowledge and love of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle
