Overview A Utility Meter Reader is responsible for reading and recording the amount of energy used by customers in a given area. They are responsible for ensuring accurate readings and billing information for customers. They may also be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the meters and equipment used to measure energy usage. Detailed Job Description Utility Meter Readers are responsible for reading and recording the amount of energy used by customers in a given area. They must accurately read and record the amount of energy used by customers and ensure that the billing information is accurate. They may also be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the meters and equipment used to measure energy usage. They must be able to identify any problems with the meters or equipment and take the necessary steps to repair or replace them. They must also be able to identify any discrepancies in the readings and take the necessary steps to correct them. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of energy usage and measurement
• Ability to read and interpret meters and equipment
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems with meters and equipment

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a related field is preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check

• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
• Knowledge of customer service principles
