Experience in truss design and timber engineering

Substantial experience in truss building and assembly, with a proven record of leading teams in construction projects.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with team members and other stakeholders.

Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to handle unexpected challenges effectively.

Adheres to safety requirements by operating equipment and handling material in a safe and appropriate manner.

Acknowledges and reports any defects or safety issues to supervisor immediately.

2+ years of related experience and/or training in MPC wood truss design and engineering

Construction Materials and Design Methods: practical working knowledge of common light-framed wood construction and associated design methodologies a must.

BS Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering required

Licensed Civil or Structural Engineer Preferred (CA PE and/or SE Preferred)

Bachelor’s degree and/or Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design/Drafting Diploma preferred.

Reading Comprehension: Ability to read and interpret construction documents including architectural and engineering drawings.

Writing: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Driving record: Possess and maintain a driving record which complies with company policy.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

1st Shift - 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM

2nd Shift - 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM

Physical. Ability to stand for 8-10+ hour work shifts.

Heavy Lifting. Ability to lift up to 75lbs consistently and bend, twist, squat and reach throughout work shift.

Lay out component supplies and materials on carts or floors

Stock plates for component set-up, assist in the set-up of component assembly process

Moving precut parts to work areas and positioning parts in alignment with supervisors’ instructions and blueprint specifications

Lifting and laying out precut lumber (top, bottom chords) onto the build table.

Verify dimensions of precut parts for accuracy of assembly

Woodworking, carpentry, or construction experience

Schedule: Day Shift: 7AM-3:30PM Night Shift: 6PM-4:30AM

Pick and pull production material as needed

Load, unload, store, and package inventory as needed

Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment while observing all posted safety rules

Experience in truss design, layout, working with 3D applications, takeoff, quoting, and/or sales is helpful.

Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills; you’re a team player.

Organized, detail-oriented, and with good math skills.

Experience with Mitek software is a plus

Minimum education: Technical Degree in engineering or related area or related experience.

Knowledge: Truss Design using Alpine or MiTek Truss Design Software. Understanding of measurements and basic math principles.

Truss Assemblers assist in the production of trusses while learning the skills used in assembly.

First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 04:30pm )

Will be working in a warehouse environment putting roof and floor trusses together and/or pre-fabricated wall panels.

May be exposed to the elements as there will be work both in and out of the warehouse.

Able to read and use a tape measure

Be able to meet physical demands of position: lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.

Operate equipment as trained and in accordance to designated safety standards. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Effective written and verbal communication skills;

Practical mathematic and measuring skills;
