Trained Medication Aide Float Pool Jobs

Provide daily cares for residents.

Administer medications under the supervision of the RNCC.

Must be a TMA who has attended an approved TMA course through the state of Minnesota.

Must be a Registered Nursing Assistant by the State of Minnesota.

Must be committed to resident centered care.

Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing

Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.

Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

Administer prescribed and over-the-counter medications as ordered by the physician.

Administer treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of the MAP.

Document the administration of medications, treatments, etc. on all appropriate forms.

Immediately report to the nurse any issues re medication errors, pharmacy errors, unusual signs, and symptoms, etc.

Meet the schedule for patient care and continuous in-service education.

OPENINGS FOR FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD SHIFTS****

Know your Fire, Safety, and Disaster Manual, and facility plan for evacuation, and Be Prepared to Implement it.

Assist the Supervisor by participating in all activities of nursing service to ensure good patient care.

When in charge of the facility, assume the full responsibility of the charge nurse. Some of the specific duties involved are:

Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient.

Completion of a standardized medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution.

Current certification and listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.

$28/hour with shift differential for evening and overnight shifts

One (1) year experience working in Assisted Living or Health Care preferred LICENSE/CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

One (1) year experience working as HHA/CNA/PCA/RA preferred

Medication Assistance Certification (where applicable)

Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge in all areas of local Health Department, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies relevant to healthcare services

Good communication skills (oral and written)

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

One (1) year experience working as a CNA/PCA/HHA/RA preferred

Trained Medication Aide (TMA) responsibilities

Document all medication management related information.

Assist and/or manage all medication refills.

Experience as a caregiver, we’ll train the rest!

Assist and/or administer medications as prescribed by physician to residents.

Notify LVN/LPN of any negative medication reactions.

A plus if you have some course work or training in medication administration, but not required.
