We are seeking a Medication Aide to perform various resident care activities and related services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents. Administers medications as prescribed by the physician, documents the administration, the medication effectiveness, and any noted adverse reactions or side effects under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Assist new employees in following established community policies and procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team and other community meetings as assigned or requested.
• Assure resident safety.
• Follow written and oral directions.
• Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
• Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information.
• Observe and abide by all regulations to ensure that personal health information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction within the community.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
• Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease QUALIFICATIONS:
• Medication Assistance Certification (where applicable)
• One (1) year experience working in Assisted Living or Health Care preferred LICENSE/CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Capable of administering employee incentive, retention and training programs
• Knowledge in all areas of local Health Department, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies relevant to healthcare services
• Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
• One (1) year experience working as HHA/CNA/PCA/RA preferred
• Good communication skills (oral and written)
• Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
