Structural Welder Qualifications / Skills:

Previous structural welding experience in an industrial setting is preferred

Layout, fabrication, and assembly of angle iron, I-beams, and various other shaped metals

Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using a cutting torch, straightening press, and other hand tools.

Ability to read blueprints or drawings

Ability to understand welding symbols

Additional responsibilities not listed may be required

Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience

May be required to use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes

Examines weld for bead size and other specifications

Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Grasping, Feeling, Repetitive Motions

Minimum of three years of experience in structural welding.

Prior experience working off lifts or staging.

Prior Rigging experience is a plus.

Weld structural members with consistent quality and safe work practices by understanding and following layouts, blueprints, and work orders.

Identify different types and preparation of materials used in structural welding.

Understand proper care in handling materials.

Produce welds that are 100% X-ray quality and demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices.

Demonstrate complete knowledge in welding, rigging, fabrication, and torching.

Express knowledge of industrial safety and OSHA guidelines.

Possess exceptional problem solving and team leadership skills

The pay rates are tiered and are non-negotiable based on years and types of experience.

Perform journey level carpentry skills related to District facilities and relocate able buildings.

Evaluate, design, estimate, identify, and requisition materials for each work assignment.

Create hardware schedules and keying systems for construction and remodel projects, and oversee projects for compliance.

Coordinate with schools, staffs, and other involved trades for proper timing of installations, repairs, re keying, and maintenance of facilities.

Pick and unplug locks and extract broken keys.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Knowledge and experience in oilfield operations, preferred

Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in oilfield preferred

Knowledge of industrial structural welding methods and techniques

Minimum of three years of experience in structural welding

Prior experience working off lifts or staging

Prior Rigging experience is a plus

Working with Victaulic piping and threading gas pipe lines

Welding on steel pipe Laying out pipe, crafting, fabricating, installing pipe systems, supports, and hydraulic or pneumatic equipment.

Cutting, threading, or hammering pipes using various power and hand tools

Interpret and analyze structural blueprints to determine welding and fabrication requirements.

Proven experience as a Structural Welder/Structural Fitter.

Strong welding skills and ability to pass a structural plate test in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.

Knowledge of different welding techniques and equipment used in structural welding.

Familiarity with various types of structural components and their fabrication requirements.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
