Street Lighting Technician Jobs

Demonstrates a working knowledge of electrical maintenance safety requirements.

A combination of education and experience may be utilized.

Assists in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance requirements.

Demonstrates the ability and desire to work in a team environment within the multi-skilled workforce.

Requires the ability to communicate with a 24-hour Air Traffic Control tower in order to maintain safety requirements.

Reads and interprets all types of electrical and electronic schematics.

Two years of experience in operating lighting and sound equipment for live performances preferred.

Prior theme park experience is a bonus but not required.

Assist with designing and programming various shows and lighting elements based on seasonal needs

Performs regular maintenance on equipment and reports all defects to the department leadership.

Troubleshoots as needed and makes minor repairs on scenic elements, sound systems, lighting fixtures, special effects, and other technical components.

Attends all rehearsal periods as required to maintain LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s show program.

Working knowledge of Bandit Lites touring equipment

Report to Project Manager / Client Rep for duties as needed

Good verbal and written skills

Ability to effectively manage and guide touring and local labor

Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations:

Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.

High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience.

Any other relevant certifications (ex. Lift / Ariel Training)

Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components.

Installing and mounting lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.

Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations:

Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.

High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience.

Any other relevant certifications (ex. Lift / Ariel Training)

Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components.

Installing and mounting lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.

Act as floor director during live and taped productions if requested by the Manager

Other duties as directed by the Production Manager.

TV Production Certificate from a recognized Technical College or 5 years’ experience in the field

Working knowledge of television station production operation equipment.

Working knowledge of lighting teleprompter and studio cameras.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Project material inventory and stock management.

The Lighting Technician will report directly to the project manager assigned to the project.

High school education or graduate from an accredited electrical apprenticeship program, apprentice electrician or electrician trainee, non residential lighting technician.

Electrical construction experience, lighting retrofit experience, lighting maintenance experience.

Preferred—experience working in the lighting industry.

Ensure that all required accessories to operate the equipment are included (ex.: wiring, adapter, PSU, gelatin, bracket, remote control, etc.).

Technical Theater Degree or other relevant domain, or the equivalent in field experience

Less than one year of experience in an audiovisual equipment workshop or in the Live Events industry.

Strong knowledge of the Live Events and/or rental industry in the entertainment and corporate environment a plus.

Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)

Good knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Delivers serviced signs and equipment

Drives YESCO sign and equipment service vehicles to service customer locations

Restocks and maintains parts and inventory of YESCO sign and equipment service vehicle

Safely operates lift equipment to perform sign service assessment and repair

Installs new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality

Reviews service reports, work orders, and documentation

Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations:

Light Board Operator Video Switcher/Stage Manager

Camera or Spotlight Operator Backstage Crew/Assistant Stage Manager

Reviews all technical riders to prep lighting for each show as required by contract

Works with performer(s) and/or technical staff on lighting needs for the performance

Organizes lighting system for easy use and quick changes required on a daily basis

Outstanding interpersonal communication and conflict management skills.

1-3 years of lighting design experience, preferably in an event setting.

Detailed knowledge of electricity, lighting and related technical equipment required.

Adept skill in operating lighting and electrical equipment.

Knowledge of event venues a plus.

Good knowledge of electrical theory, be able to read and follow electrical and system drawings and diagrams

Good knowledge of intelligent moving fixtures operation, maintenance and repair procedures

Good knowledge of lighting console operation (GrandMa, GrandMa2, ETC)

Good knowledge and understanding of show control and time code distribution

Basic knowledge of lighting design and programming

Basic knowledge in PC hardware & software maintenance and repair
