The Lighting Technician must prepare equipment for rental as well as place equipment back into the inventory and store it properly in the space provided upon return.
Your day will look like this:
  • Follow the quality and preparation standards of the company and/or industry
  • Prepare the racks and systems’ interconnection
  • Perform operation tests on all equipment
  • Upgrade the items (ex.: paint, cleaning, etc.)
  • Install the computer software/programs and updates
  • Prepare orders of average complexity, scan them, and put them inside the appropriate transport case
  • Work with fellow shop technicians to prepare large orders
  • Perform inventories of requested items
  • Modify the equipment’s configuration settings
  • Program the equipment according to the standards and client’s needs
  • Ensure that all required accessories to operate the equipment are included (ex.: wiring, adapter, PSU, gelatin, bracket, remote control, etc.).
  • Report breakage and missing components to the Shop Technician 3
  • Clean and conduct a visual inspection of the equipment
  • The Technician may be asked to customize the equipment if required by the client, according to the purchase order:
    • Modify the equipment’s configuration settings
    • Program the equipment according to the standards and client’s needs
    • Prepare the racks and systems’ interconnection
    • Install the computer software/programs and updates
    • Ensure that all required accessories to operate the equipment are included (ex.: wiring, adapter, PSU, gelatin, bracket, remote control, etc.).
  • Ensure their section is organized, clean, and all tools are properly stored and maintained
  • All other related tasks assigned
Your profile:

Education:

  • Technical Theater Degree or other relevant domain, or the equivalent in field experience

Experience:

  • Less than one year of experience in an audiovisual equipment workshop or in the Live Events industry.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of the Live Events and/or rental industry in the entertainment and corporate environment a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Demonstrate ability to work well with clients (internal and external)
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Flexibility of working schedule (an asset)
  • Experience in Forklift operation
  • Ability to solve complicated problems
