A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the health and safety field required.

Provide management and oversight of site-specific safety activities. Examples – Permit required confined space, abatement, lockout/tag out activities, etc.

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; or combined equivalent experience and education in lieu of degree.

Provide onsite safety education to subcontractors

Coordination of safety issues with the Quality Control Manager and site Superintendent on new definable features of work

Demonstrate in depth knowledge of EM-385-1.1, OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926

Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety and health requirements

Flexible, well organized, and detail oriented, using efficient time management skills to meeting project deadlines and schedules.

Has a working knowledge of computers and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and project management software

Work to increase job knowledge, exhibiting the ability to learn and apply new skills.

Coordinate with project management to ensure all close-out documents are complete and submitted.

Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.

Current OSHA 30 and USACE EM 385-1-1 certifications.

Knowledge of risk management, insurance requirements, risk communication and the standard of care for university students and facilities.

Strong organizational skills, demonstrated use of data informed decision making, and experience with strategic planning.

A Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, risk management, environmental science, chemical sciences, engineering, or a related field is required.

Demonstrate the ability to increase safety in challenging remote fields of research, outdoor studies, and/or marine locations.

Knowledge of industrial and chemical/biological safety.

Knowledge of Federal & State OSHA/EPA regulations, university building and fire codes; chemical and biological safety regulations.

Must be highly organized with strong prioritization skills, and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Prepare and deliver training to fulfill regulatory requirements and ensure client employees are fully aware of the safety program.

Strong professional communication and written skills.

Experience and comfort with public speaking.

Establishment and maintenance of EHS permits and licenses in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Conduct Job Safety Analyses for hazardous materials processes.

OSHA 500 Certification – Outreach trainer

Strong computer aptitude, including fluency with MS Office; PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio. Adobe applications and Office 365.

Valid Driver's License and ability to drive to project sites with company vehicles.

OSHA level courses related to construction and remediation
