Assist suppliers in developing offerings to create a competitive environment to accommodate the needs of Scout Motors

Category Manager – Raw Materials

· Manage supplier development efforts critical to site needs

· Facilitate timeliness of change control / qualification process

· Leads RFQ/ bidding events on managed commodities to obtain lowest total cost.

· Assure material and supplier qualification process completion

Drive collaboration with engineering and development teams to understand requirements and ensure supply chain is equipped to meet their needs

Lead the vendor selection process with engineering teams, including raw material specification, vendor technology and capabilities assessment, and alternative product options

Prior experience with Batteries, Battery Materials preferred but not required

Experience building and managing a team in a dynamic environment

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, with ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to find solutions to complex issues

Develop and manage procurement budgets, tracking expenses and optimizing spending.

Minimum 8-15 years of experience at a mid-sized Chemical or Oil/Natural Gas related company.

Minimum of 5 years of leadership skills.

Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience leading an organization or team.

Manage and optimize functional sourcing support activities while ensuring adherence to stakeholders’ corporate standards

Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including sourcing strategies, inventory management, and environmental compliance.

Ensure a smooth transition between strategic and operational procurement, as well as project management.

5-7 years of experience in a similar role

Proven experience as a buyer or procurement professional in the recycling industry, preferably related to metal smelting or manufacturing.

Experience with selling as refining services.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, and external suppliers.

5+ years of experience in a global, matrixed environment sourcing direct materials (Raw Materials, Packaging)

Experience operating in a manufacturing environment

Experience providing recommendations and updates to/interacting with senior leadership

Experience with Sourcing/Procurement tools and methodologies, including RFPs, Cost Models/Should Cost/Clean Sheet, Negotiations, and Contracts

Working knowledge of commodity hedging (preferably energy)

Systems – Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, and MRP systems (SAP preferred)

Demonstrated project management and presentation skills

Expert knowledge of good Purchasing practices, contract law as it applies to the Procurement process and Supply Chain Management

Responsible for stakeholder management, management of category spend and KPIs
