Scenic Stylist Jobs

Excellent organizational, communication, budgetary, and interpersonal skills required.

Have experience applying vinyl to various substrates

Construction experience sufficient to ensure proper execution of sign installations

Assist with the fabrication, installation/strike and maintenance/repair of various signage and graphics, props, set pieces and décor

Assist with material inventory process

Paint experience elements to scenically treat the scenery installed by the scenic carpenters.

Expert knowledge of paint and application methods

Excellent verbal communication skills and customer service - communicates through various mediums. such as email, text, phone call, and in-person conversations.

Ability to interface with clients, coworkers, and laborers to maintain a positive work environment

Awareness of dangers and hazards associated with job functions and willingness to mitigate those risks

Expert troubleshooting of technical issues in a theatrical/production setting

Experience using and operating wood working tools including building and setting up jigs.

Experience using and operating metal working tools including prepping metal, cutting, bending, drilling, and MIG welding.

Knowledge of basic theatrical stagecraft including rigging, running the rail in a fly house, and handling soft goods.

Under the direction of the head carpenter, research and develop special projects such as stage automation and rigging.

Report any repairs and maintenance needs on any shop tools, equipment, or low inventory stock, to the scene shop supervisor.

Oversee small groups of over-hire technicians on special projects, when assigned.

Time management and interpersonal skills are essential.

Experience with painting techniques and theory in addition to carving, faux finishing, and woodworking skills is preferred.

Minimum of three years’ experience in scenic painting or the equivalent.

Knowledge of geometry and perspective for accurate layout and design.

Basic knowledge in chemistry for proper handling of solvents**.**

Having a working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator, or similar programs is strongly desirable.

Proficient in use of hand and power tools.

1+ years of experience in a design related field.

Interior Design, Retail, Television, Event and/or merchandising display experience.

Assist Scenic Stylists and Sr Scenic Stylist with dressing, and/or striking sets for the live show and events.

Consign requested merchandise items from the Showroom as needed.

Restore sets to their original general condition upon completion of specialty styled programs.

Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Studio Management

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Experience with 3D sculpture, modeling, and printing

Experienced with 2-part plastics, urethane, silicone, or poly-urethane foam coating systems

Basic math skills able to translate drawings to material orders

Knowledge of carpentry, welding/metal fabrication and general rigging

Assist with the fabrication, installation/strike, and maintenance/repair of props, set pieces and décor.

Assist with material inventory process.

Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and Guests.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent

Have a valid Driver's license and able to meet company driving guidelines.

To Design and deliver amazing interactive experiences for every single guest.

Producing guest-facing Scenic elements utilizing a variety of tools and materials.

Casting game pieces using various materials and methods

Applying Faux finishes using multiple application methods (Air brush, Spray Can, Paint Gun, Brush, roller, etc…)

Adherence to all shop policies and procedures.

Jumping in to help out wherever needed to meet our goals.

Experience: 3+ years experience in product styling and set styling required, including previous TV experience

Working knowledge of scenic construction, scene paining and set dressing required.

Working knowledge of style trends, interior design elements, current fashion looks, visual merchandising, and floral display.

Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time.

Interpret design direction from Scenic Design Partners, choosing appropriate props, furniture and styling needs for live show.

Develop overall set style of particular shows turning empty sets into environments appropriate to the brand/product line.
