Residential Behavioral Health Specialist Jobs in Kansas

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Uses a nurtured heart approach to provide supervision, behavior management, and counseling of the basic needs for the youth,

Responsibilities include leading resident group meetings, coordinating recreation activities, and participating in other group functions.

HS Diploma or equivalent AND 3-5 years' experience providing direct care to youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting

Functions as a role model of healthy interpersonal relationships and demonstrates appropriate behavior for patients, family, and staff.

Residential Counselors will build relationships and assist with developing our adolescence through support of behavior modules.

Education can substitute for experience.

Experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health setting is preferred.

Organizes and participates in meetings related to care coordination; completes documentation for direct services provided to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Transports individuals receiving services to appointments, activities, and/or work.

NEW starting wage effective 4-30-23 of $19.61/hr!!

Job will remain posted until filled.

Ensures proper documentation of patient progress; completes 15-minute patient checks; provides one-to-one patient observation and or milieu management.

Attends educational in-services for Behavior Specialists; participates in unit committees and educational offerings.

Mental and Emotional Requirements: Manages stress appropriately.

Education: Bachelor’s degree with a minor in psychology or related field

Equivalency: Professional relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Certification(s): Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification
