Remote Research Scientist Jobs in Georgia

Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and personally participates in major medical or scientific research projects, including development and implementation of research protocols.

Reviews and analyzes resulting research data, revises techniques or approaches to work problems as indicated as necessary by research data.

Compiles, writes and submits project results to principal investigator or department chairman.

Prepares or assists in preparation of research papers, reports and abstracts for publication as one of co-authors.

Designs, develops or adapts equipment used in experiments or research to obtain desired results.

Confers with industrial, governmental or other groups concerning progress or results of research project.

Experience modeling reporting marts/layers for BI Tools (Tableau Preferred)

Experience with statistical computer languages (SQL, R, Python, etc.)

Proficiency and application experience in data architecture, data visualization, and reporting

Demonstrated ability to interact with Functional Analysts, Project Managers, ETL developers, and end users regarding data needs

Support the development and implementation of data marts, data structures, functions, data warehouse fact & dimension tables, views, and indexes

Write complex SQL queries and SQL performance tuning

Articulates and uses knowledge of national and state trends in education in assigned operational assessment programs or research projects

Doctoral degree in educational measurement or a related field from a nationally recognized institution of higher education

OR experience with applied techniques associated with the scientist's specific area of expertise

OR experience with software (Matlab, IDL, PERL, Java, Javascript, XML) associated with the scientist's specific area of expertise

Upholds the principles defined by the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing

Communicates about general state and national educational issues

Experience in immunology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology is highly preferred.

Track record of scholarly publication and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Conducts laboratory experiments related to specific project or initiative.

Gathers, summarizes, records, and interprets data obtained from research projects/initiatives.

Plans subsequent work with review/approval of principal scientist/investigator.

Reviews relevant literature to solve problems and contributes to manuscripts and grants.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

3 Years relevant professional experience

Enthusiasm for research and learning scientific techniques, skills and methods.

Superb communication and record-keeping skills

Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Experience in the performing research in the fields of microbiology, biotechnology, immunology and/or host pathogen interactions.
