Radiation Control Technician Jobs

Facilitate dose investigations for potential personnel and environmental exposures and concerns. Keep management informed of problems and technical matters.

Knowledge of the Quality Assurance requirements in the operation of calibration facilities including training, procedures, records and quality control.

Ability to maintain knowledge of appropriate regulations and training, and maintain all required permits and position required qualifications up to date.

Prepare, manage and distribute Electronic Pocket Dosimeters and manage the reports generated.

Prepare and manage area monitoring station maps and dose information.

Extensive knowledge of the physics and engineering of radiation detectors including ionization chambers, scintillation counters, spectroscopy systems, and neutron measurement devices.

Applicants must satisfactorily complete all the educational requirements to the Control Technician Training Program.

Perform arithmetic or algebraic and geometric procedures in standard, practical applications.

Applicants must be High School Graduates or equivalent.

Applicants will be required to successfully complete a control technician screening examination.

To be eligible for progression increases, applicants must demonstrate satisfactory performance; complete all on-the-job training and related study courses.

Applicants must possess a valid NY State Driver's License and be capable of passing a Company driving test.

Accomplish and maintain all pertinent ECP training proficiencies to include quality control (QC) in order to meet mission and duty requirements.

Perform duties as an assistant to the 101 AOG Security Manager

Demonstrate skill in verbal and written communication.

Perform video surveillance monitoring and logging, report unusual circumstances through chain of command and/or Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC).

Create and maintain security training files for all members assigned to the AOC.

Must have knowledge of PPE for entering isolation and contact precaution rooms.

Must be able to enter patient rooms to perform work.

Will understand balancing and measuring techniques for both air and water distribution systems

Understand and follow infection control risk assessments;

May troubleshoot and repair central supervisory control system components;

Review of calibration certificates to assure they meet project requirements.

Repair and calibrate radiation detectors and instruments, including air samplers.

Drive in the local Knoxville area to pick up and deliver instruments to other local calibration and repair shops.

Ability to repair and calibrate standard count rate and dose rate instruments.

Ability to repair and calibrate air sampling equipment.

Proof of citizenship will be required as a condition of employment.

Minimum of 2 years oil and gas experience

Barite recovery and dewatering experience is a must

Vertical Dryer experience is a plus

Must have effective communication skills

Must have basic computer skills, such as but not limited to (Word, Excel, Time applications)

Communicate with operations supervisors, regional managers, safety department, shop and maintenance employees and clerical staff

Knowledge and understanding of various communications protocols used in the industry including BACnet, LonTalk, and Modbus.

Proficiency with computer devices (including laptops, tablets, and smartphones) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Apple iOS software.

Ability to pass drug screening

Ability to prove US employment eligibility

Must possess a valid driver's license

Maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of process control systems.

2.) Must satisfactorily complete radiation safety training, including respirator qualifications.

Salary: $36.63 to $44.40/hr depending on experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

3.) Must pass U.S. Dept. of Transportation-required chemical test

Preferred experience in leading programmatic level work scope (MC&A, Qualification Program, DOT, etc.).

Previous DOE/*NRC 3.1/**DOD-qualification radiation control technician (RCT)/ Health Physic Technician (HPT)/ Engineering Laboratory Technician (ELT), or equivalent, is required.

15 years of relevant experience in radiation/health physics programs, of which 5 years are as a qualified RCT/HPT/ELT.

Comprehensive experience in developing radiation protection procedures, technical work documents; which included providing technical advice and training instructions.
