Public Finance Investment Banking Analyst Jobs in New York

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

Collaborate with internal teams such as Development & Construction, Engineering, and Asset Management to establish underwriting assumptions.

Provide support for transactions within the Investment, Project Finance, and Strategic Finance teams.

Assist in raising third-party capital, including debt, tax equity, refinancings, and project equity structures, to efficiently finance projects and maximize returns.

Manage the due diligence process and coordinate with external parties and consultants.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering

Knowledge of finance and accounting principles.

Perform debt profile analyses related to current and prospective public finance clients.

Assist with the preparation and delivery of client pitch books and requests for Proposals/Qualifications.

Interest in public sector and municipal finance.

Knowledge, or ability to learn, web-based applications, and specialized information systems, including EMMA, Bloomberg, TM3, Munex, and DBC.

Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related field

Previous Public Finance or Healthcare experience at an investment bank or financial advisory firm

Create and manage debt profiles for issuers/credits and evaluate existing debt portfolios for refunding/restructuring opportunities

Adaptable; able to manage projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team

3+ years of relevant work experience (in leveraged finance, investment banking or related fields)

Knowledge of corporate finance valuation and financial accounting concepts

Provide support in execution of leveraged finance transactions for financial sponsors and corporate clients

Work with the senior bankers to manage the relationship and monitor performance of portfolio companies

Experience with three-statement financial modeling, including detailed operating builds and capital structure scenarios

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams

Superior time management and multi-tasking skills to juggle live transactions and daily tasks

Entry level or 1-2 years of Trading or Markets experience

Bachelor's degree in relevant coursework (Economics, Finance, Data Science, Engineering, Math, or related)

Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; proficiency in data analysis tools or programming preferred

Provide support to traders covering institutional accounts and making markets in municipal bonds and other non-profit securities

Demonstrated project management and decision-making skills.

Manage reputational risks and issues management, helping evolve our systems in the process.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Help develop proactive integrated communications strategies inclusive of earned media, influencer, data-driven storytelling, events, community engagement and more.
