Underwriting Manager - Specialty Property (Hybrid or Remote) | Intact Insurance

Expert knowledge of technical underwriting, pricing, and coverage issues.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.

Generate Renewal reminders; follow-up on pending information for accounts; update submission status.

Process and electronically deliver notices of non-renewal within state defined timeframe.

Process and electronically deliver state and federal filings on accounts required for this type of coverage.

Initiate request for outstanding information; perform follow-up as necessary and record receipt of requested information.

Approve and process policy issuance and endorsement requests within defined level of authority

Respond to service inquiries from brokers via phone or e-mail, research and resolve and/or correct errors or customer issues.

Retrieve reports and other data from various sites, most notably OSHA, Safer, Crime, Experience Mods, and Risk Meter.

Validate data entry into underwriting workbooks and systems, such as auto classification, GL classification, schedule of underlying, and losses.

Knowledge of insurance processes and procedures with emphasis on surplus lines of business.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to take initiative.

This is a remote from home opportunity.

One (1) to two (2) years related experience.

Work with Underwriter when reviewing risks submitted by Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, issue written binders.

Review indications, quotes, binders, submissions and policies for completeness and high degree of accuracy including forms and editions.

Strong time management, organizational and project management skills

Proficiency in computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

6. Confirm/Verify policy forms in accordance with Risk Management Agency (RMA) guidelines and approve acceptance.

5. Evaluate existing coverage amounts to determine benefit amounts.
