Underwriting Assistant Jobs

• This position is based ONLY in Austin, TX USA. This is a hybrid position (2-3 days in office) after training is completed. Visa sponsorship not available**

The purpose of this position is to provide support and assistance to the overall underwriting function through customer care, processing of various underwriting transactions, data research and analysis. Assisting to develop relationships with assigned agencies that will result in developing and improving retention, growth, and profitability. This process will include collaboration with the underwriter and agency relationships to develop annual production goals and retention.

Requirements

• Subject matter expert of worker’s compensation underwriting processes which include rating, data entry, endorsements, and the general knowledge of the insurance policy.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Oral and written communication skills to handle assigned processes, as well as to develop and maintain relationships.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is critical to analysis of existing and new policies
• Full and complete knowledge of underwriting system and or strong computer skills.

Professional Qualifications

• Strong computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years prior related insurance experience
• Proficient in the use of computer systems.
• Must be dedicated, team-oriented and willing to take on extra tasks
• Ability to interact with all levels of associates
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent writing and communication skills and familiarity with the underwriting terminology
