Property Desk Adjuster Jobs

Investigate and process insurance claims filed by policyholders.

Interview claimant and witnesses to gather pertinent information.

Handle and process variety of claims, including automobile, life, and home insurance claims.

Inspect property damage to determine extent of damages.

Verify that coverage applies through an insurance policy.

Evaluate damages to ascertain compensation amount.

Engages and manages consultants and independent adjusters as required. Monitors the costs to ensure they are reasonable and necessary.

Must possess stellar oral and written communication skills

Knowledge of commercial property claims adjusting methods (coverage evaluation, loss assessment, etc.), legal/regulatory environment, financial concepts.

Conducts a prompt, thorough and fair investigation by obtaining relevant facts to determine coverage, origin, and extent of property losses.

Keeps the cedent adjuster and others informed about the claim's status with clear, timely and accurate written/oral communications.

Affirms or denies coverage of the claim based on the facts and the policy terms and conditions and provides recommendation.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong skills and experience with Xactimate estimating program.

Must maintain a Florida licensed All-Lines adjuster (620), and yearly Continuing Education as required by licensing division of DFS.

2 years of property and casualty desk adjustment experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good skills working with customers.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong skills and experience with Xactimate estimating program.

Must maintain a Florida licensed All-Lines adjuster (620), and yearly Continuing Education as required by licensing division of DFS.

3+ years of property desk claims adjustment experience.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

Evaluate damages remotely using digital tools, and handle claim settlements and/or negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.

This position requires the ability to work in a remote environment free from distraction.

Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.

Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience.

Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims, or other equivalent experience.

Strong customer service, communication, organizational skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Experience using XactAnalysis and Xactimate.

Processes payments for low to moderately complex claims.

Collaborates with internal resources to facilitate claims resolution.

Contributes to business goals, performance metrics, and effectively uses tools & technology.

Good time management and organization skills preferred

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Apply knowledge learned to conduct property inspections and photographs claim sites as necessary to depict and substantiate losses or damage.

Proficient knowledge of estimating technology platforms to prepare claims estimates in order to handle moderate to complex property insurance claims.

1 year of relevant property claims adjusting experience or 2 years relevant claims adjusting experience

Developing knowledge of XactAnalysis, Xact Contents, or similar tools and platforms

Developing knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law

US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

2+ years relevant residential property claims adjusting experience, to include personal property and dwelling

Good organization and time management skills

Proficient computer & typing skills - working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook

2-5 years of homeowner claims experience

Strong writing skills related to policy interpretation is a must

Decision making skills and the ability to work independently

Analytical and proactive claim handling skills

Has the ability to work in multiple claims management systems at the same time.

Strong insurance restoration estimating knowledge and experience.

Proficient computer & typing skills - working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.

Experience making coverage determinations and writing coverage determination letters.

Prior experience handling FIGA claims is preferred.

Prior experience working in Duck Creek and Katana is a plus.

Good time management and organization skills preferred
