Qualifies team members in basic, intermediate and advanced qualifications for Maintenance Technicians.

Shares knowledge and techniques with team members and assists with training of new personnel.

Has fundamental knowledge of Mechanical Theory and principles of operation.

Has demonstrated excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Has demonstrated the ability to think systematically and to transfer knowledge to others.

High School or equivalent and one year related experience or successful completion of a Histology Training Program

Demonstrate professional conduct through interpersonal skills with patients, laboratory personnel, other health care professionals, and the public.

Processes and assist PA's with Frozen Sections and maintains the TAT reports.

Performs daily, weekly and monthly QC on all equipment and reagents used in the department

Maintains a wet tissue storage for up to four weeks, Sorts legal specimens and updates logs on the shared drive.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Processes specimens and demonstrates knowledge of specimen requirements and laboratory rejection policies. (EF)

Recognizes problems, notifies management of issue, and follows up as directed by management. (EF)

Teaches students, new employees and others as assigned by Manager or designee. (EF)
