Pathology Tissue Technician Jobs in California

Critical expert knowledge: biomaterials, vascularization, and ability to culture and characterize muscle cells in 2D and 3D tissue environments.

Relevant experiences: Experience with 3D encapsulation and bioreactor design, mechanical design (e.g. Solidworks) and prototyping (e.g. CAD, 3DPrinting).

Culture and characterize muscle cells in 2D systems and 3D bioreactors

Design, develop, and evaluate biomaterials for cellular encapsulation strategies

Implement tissue engineering methods to drive high cellular viability in thick tissues.

Experience using various cell and molecular biology techniques to assess cell/tissue-biomaterial interactions

What your manager wants you to know:

Develop and execute in vivo and in vitro assays and models to evaluate the cell/tissue response to implantable biomaterials/medical devices

Perform scientific studies to develop and qualify new test methods and/or procedures

Perform data analysis and interpretation of results and prepare data presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Document and prepare data summaries of methods and results in written reports

Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws.

Manages overdue reports. Files tissue slides and cards.

Education/training as described below that includes at least 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Certification as Histotechnician or Histotechnologist.

Medical/Pathology terminology and basic computer knowledge

Autopsy Duties: Autopsy - prepare body, set up for autopsy and clean after autopsy.
