Pathology Tissue Technician Jobs in Maine

Good communication and computer skills

Performs a variety of routine histology techniques in concurrence with established laboratory policies and procedures

Supports the preparation of microscopic slides including tissue processing, paraffin block sectioning and H&E staining

Produces high-quality slides from frozen or fixed tissues, including trimming, embedding, processing, sectioning using a microtome/cryostat, and staining with appropriate stains.

Performs equipment maintenance, reagent recycling/reclamation and efficient use of the pathology laboratory information system and specimen tracking system.

Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Experience: None required. Previous Anatomic Pathology or Clinical Laboratory experience preferred.
