Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including aerial, underground, submarine, buried, block and house cables, poles, and associated hardware/fixtures.

Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, building or poles.

Reading and interpreting engineering work orders.

Performing construction work using designated equipment (i.e. digging holes, placing poles, etc.).

Operating Company motor vehicles of varying gross weights to transport equipment.

Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS mapping software, Auto CAD, SpacialNET, GIS software, Site Tracker Project Management software and Microsoft Office applications.

10 years OSP cable plant design and deployment experience.

Strong knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) practices and procedures.

Knowledge of HFC cable systems and provisioning, including DOCSIS technology (3.0)

Works with RF Engineering to identify the optimal location to place a strand radios on the DOCSIS plant.

Participates in Strand radio planning/deployment tasks, network architecture design and DOCSIS engineering

Knowledge of engineering/design and review, extensive construction and field knowledge, working knowledge with South Florida area jurisdictions and permitting requirements/processes.

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Knowledge of right-of-way, property rights, and permits acquisition.

Responsible for managing all engineering and construction activities associated with expanding and maintaining the OSP network infrastructure.

Communicate errors and omissions, as well as offer ideas and feedback for improved company procedures to Branch Manager

Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the store and the associate's specific office

Oversee the administration, follow-up and the ultimate satisfaction of the customer

Participate in regularly scheduled staff, store meetings and industry training opportunities

Experience with Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and/or document management software

Prior experience in the engineering/construction industry

-Prepares permitting applications based on local city, county and/or state ordinances on an ongoing basis.

-Obtains engineering plans, legal descriptions, tax numbers and fees as needed.

-Processes permits when received, noting any changes as needed.

-Maintains accurate records documentation and company files pertaining to permit applications on an ongoing basis.

Experience maintaining a fiber network.

Responsible for all network field activity on Cogent network.

Pay Range: $65K+ per year, based on experience

HSD, or equivalent education, is required

Experience and understanding of outside plant engineering and construction techniques

Experience working with Outside Plant Engineering in the following systems: AutoCAD, and or client-specific GIS software preferred

3-5 years outside plant design experience with 1-2 years FTTH experience, preferred

1st Shift: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Basic knowledge of CAD systems, GIS and GPS field survey tools.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Data entry experience preferred.

Working knowledge of the permitting process steps and special policies, practices, technicalities, and work methods for the Department.

Three years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support and customer service, preferably in a planning, building, or engineering area.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Fill out permit applications/ print if needed. Print plans per AHJ and SOW requirements. Submit plans electronically.

Escalate system and process issues to the Regional Permit and Inspection Manager, Branch Manager, or Regional Engineering Manager as necessary

Experience interfacing with municipality electrical and building departments

Identify requirements and potential road blocks and facilitating resolution so that projects stay on schedule.

Prepare permit submittal packages in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.

Track jurisdiction specific requirements and provide that information to the team.

2+ years of permit coordination experience preferred.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communications skills.

The work environment is that of an office position with minimal to high noise levels or may be remote based.

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Communicate with jurisdictional employees to understand any changes in permitting requirements

Track jurisdiction specific requirements and provide that information to the team

Posting permit submittals, approved permits, manage the permitting module in Polaris (job docs)

Experience with construction permitting is preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experienced in Project Management and in leading project management teams across a national footprint.

Overall accountability and management of a $150M P&L with growth goals of 30%-50% year over year.

Provide account management and business development for key clients.

Ensure project teams understand and manage to the governing contract agreement. Develop processes and procedures to measure contractual adherence.

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration or related degree or equivalent experience.

Experienced working with Outside Plant; Underground, Aerial, Micro-Trenching, Fiber Splicing disciplines.

Provide onsite support to remote engineers (reboot equipment, power cycle equipment, reseat cards, provide status information, fiber light path measurements, etc.)

Manage & coordinate the disposal or RMA of damaged or inoperable equipment.

Strong technical troubleshooting skills and basic understanding of networking & fiber signal flow.

Solid skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required, with ability to become proficient in other software.

Strong knowledge of outside plant fiber networks.

Working knowledge of telecommunications/data center equipment.
