Permit Coordinator Jobs

Overview:

Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) has an opening in our Building Inspection Department. UES is a nationwide leader in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, Building Code Compliance, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Building Envelope.

As a Permit Coordinator, you will be responsible for various administrative duties as part of the Building Inspection Department. If you’re reliable, have a good work ethic, and can cooperate with co-workers and clients respectfully, this is the position for you.

Job Responsibilities:

• Take calls from clients and managers
• Assists with tracking internal plans review.
• Assembles permit applications and submits to the appropriate jurisdiction
• Creates and prints correspondence, reports and other documents when necessary
• Tracks permit submittals and notifies client of progress and status

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Excellent customer verbal and written customer service skills
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
• High school education/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with Building Inspection and/or municipalities
• ICC Permit Technician License
• Experience with Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and/or document management software
• Prior experience in the engineering/construction industry
