Preferred Qualifications and Special Skills

A master's degree in higher education, public administration, student services, or a STEM discipline.

Leading the efforts to planning and implementing SDSU-IV Neighborhood Aztecs program.

Demonstrated ability to make decisions and carry through actions having implications regarding other program or service areas.

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Health Care, or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) related field.

High School Diploma, or equivalency and/or outreach experience.

Conducts street and community outreach.

Recruits participants for testing, treatments and counseling services.

Engages street contacts in risk reduction discussions.

Gives out HIV/BHV/STD risk reduction information.

Monitors and follow-up on service delivery.

Assist prospective students and families with navigating the admissions process and registering for classes.

Inform students and parents about available resources and assist with completing the FAFSA as requested.

Assist in coordinating daily operations of the Admissions Information desk and telephone.

Assist with on-campus tours as needed.

Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.

Use computers and various software programs and other computer applications, including word processing, data management, spreadsheets, and other programs.

Consult with Case Managers, IOS Supervisor and other agency professionals on people with complicated issues.

Two (2) years’ experience in the direct treatment of acutely and severely mentally ill, homeless and/or chemically dependent individuals is preferred.

First aid principles and ability to demonstrate skill in their application.

Participate in and seek clinical supervision with focus on self-reflection and deepening skills with identified population as required for the position.

Experience: 3 years’ quality improvement, healthcare/ health plan operations, or contract negotiations.

Interview walk-in clients to assist with enrollment information.

Schedule and host information sessions for interested candidates and present compelling information about Year Up’s program offerings

Manage online and print ad placement for recruitment purposes

Manage welcome receptions and acceptance meetings for students at the end of every admissions cycle

Manage the design and production of regular reports to track, document, and measure admissions & recruitment progress

2-3 years of experience preferably in admissions, recruitment, enrollment and/or partnership development

Experience with social media campaigns to drive results

Managed care or other insurance experience

Experience in customer service and finance

Strong communication skills – both written and verbal

Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent applicable experience in accounting, business administration or health care services
