Optical Laboratory Technician I Jobs in Oregon

No prior experience required, this is an entry level position.

Good oral and written communication skills and able to follow directions.

One (1) year of optical lab experience.

Basic knowledge of departmental and Kaiser Permanente organizational safety rules and standards.

Knowledge of optical surfacing equipment, finishing equipment or optical lab software.

Assist other lab personnel in duties as directed.

Minimum one (1) year related experience and/or training in an approved phlebotomy training program preferred.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.

Experience in a health care or customer service setting.

Compensation: $15.25 - $19.05 per hour (based on years of experience)

Performs adult and pediatric venous and capillary blood draws. Prepare and explain patient self-collection kits.

Registering and checking in laboratory patients. Scan, file, and disperse paperwork and faxes. Answering incoming calls from patients and clinical staff.

Plan assigned workload on a daily basis in coordination with management and team members to effectively schedule multiple assignments.

Effective written and verbal communication skills in English required

Basic knowledge of chemical handling and storage required

AAS Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or high school diploma plus 1+ years of comparable laboratory or manufacturing experience

Learn to conduct routine procedures and analyses in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines

Developing, improving, and writing SOPS under supervision
