Optical Laboratory Technician I Jobs in Florida

Prepares specimens for testing. Verifies patient identification on samples and requests before testing.

Applies rules of specimen rejection and arranges for recollection.

Performs the various tests without undue delay or excessive supervision.

Uses and maintains the various pieces of equipment and instruments used in test performance.

Prepares reagents as required for test performance, calculates test results.

Reports test results and keeps accurate and proper records of test results.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/management

Follow instructions and procedures precisely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement

Math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing)

Experience in optical manufacturing and/or any manufacturing environment; experience in optical coating, metrology, disposition, cleaning, fabrication a plus

Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing detailed instructions, short correspondence (e.g., e-mails, texts, instant messaging)

Skilled in writing simple, informational, and technical correspondence

Competent infection control skills and knowledge.

Charting on patient optometric record/documentation and record keeping. Knowledge of correct record format.

Assists with minor procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control.

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent training and experience.

Documentation of completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certification preferred.

2-years experience as a Optometry Technician preferred.
