Detailed Job Description An Ophthalmic Scribe is responsible for providing support to ophthalmologists in the examination and treatment of patients. This includes accurately documenting patient information and medical histories, as well as performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork. The Ophthalmic Scribe must be able to accurately record patient information in a timely manner, as well as maintain patient confidentiality. They must also be able to effectively communicate with patients and other medical staff. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of medical terminology and ophthalmology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to accurately document patient information
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in computer software applications
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred
• Certification as an Ophthalmic Scribe is preferred
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ophthalmology
• Knowledge of medical office procedures
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Job Experience
• Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred
• Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Scribe is preferred
