News Anchor Intern Jobs in Arkansas

Research local community, state, national, and international current events

Meet with the news director, reporters, and other news anchors to be briefed on the day’s news

Collaborate with the news director to choose stories to broadcast considering audience preferences

Organize the news to present the most interesting pieces first

Revise scripts and prepare to deliver them on-air

Ensure late-breaking news is added to newscasts

Describe topics related to Finance, Stocks, etc., and record the series individually

Superb interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.

Managing the recording process to ensure that deadlines are met.

Recording video using high definition camera, proper microphone and aesthetic background.

Recording using scripts provided by writers.

Graduate in any specialization (preferred in Acting, English, or Communication).

Project management - Learning planning, writing product requirement documents, and business requirement documents for new projects.

Creative skills and an interest in thinking outside of the box

Qualitative and quantitative research - Understanding how news research works, and participating in note-taking and sorting for user interviews.

Cross-platform marketing implementation - Help create our marketing timeline and measure successes or pivot points.

A great desire to learn

Must consume news and information, preferably on platforms and apps rather than newsprint.

Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CMS (content-management systems) such as WordPress

Completing CPD Level 5 Certification in 'Journalism' which will include keeping a portfolio during the internship, with some additional validation sessions/eLearning

Great communication and teamwork skills

Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
