Maintain appropriate and strict standards regarding wardrobe, hair, cosmetics and grooming as directed by management.

Prior experience in news/sports reporting, anchoring, producing, shooting and editing. Proven abilities in live reporting.

Knowledge of photojournalism and non-linear editing equipment a must.

Exceptional communication skills, oral and written.

Abilities in critical thinking, quick and effective decision-making, live ad-libbing, and maintaining performance under extreme pressure and on strict deadline required.

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.

Minimum five years’ experience in news reporting or anchoring. (More or less depending on market size.)

Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers and issues.

Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.

Presents news stories and other content for all platforms in English and Spanish

Can juggle multiple stories and projects at once, demonstrates time-management skills by meeting deadlines under pressure

Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.

Past anchor and reporting experience required

Proven Anchor with ability to connect with viewers, in addition to strong reporting skills

Military training and experience will be considered

Delivers scripted and ad lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose

Five years’ experience on air, preferably anchoring in a top 20 market.

Experience shooting and editing with Prosumer camera

Report live and on tape, scripted and unscripted, with clarity, accuracy and confidence

Collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content

Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness

Write clearly and interestingly, and use video and graphics to illustrate story facts and ideas
