Manages reception desk staff of +/-15 (including student workers and community members), including hiring, training, scheduling, and progress updates

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

TCIC/NCIC Certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.

Supervises and monitors key control.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Methods, procedures and techniques used in operating jailhouse security systems.

Modern office/clerical and administrative practices, procedures and methods related to operating jailhouse security systems.

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication

Extensive experience and ability interacting tactfully with large and diverse groups

Experience with Microsoft Office and Eventpro preferred

Strives to continually improve the standards of the visitor experience

Customer-centric mindset that provides support to patrons and troubleshoots potential issues

Ability to foster teamwork, work cooperatively with others

Effective written and oral communications skills.

Protection of exhibits and Museum property, patrolling and guarding hall or halls, maintaining proper temperatures during the heating season as trained.

Provide security team support in the auditorium or other meeting areas for various types of programs.

Report existence of suspicious persons and monitor until relieved.

Escalate any report of lost children or other persons in need and assist in relevant search efforts as directed.

Respond to exhibit case or fire alarms and report conditions as appropriate.

Providing policy direction and guidance to DHS management and staff;

A Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice or safety management or a related human services field;

Budget and contract management; and

Experience with Conservators of Peace;

Experience overseeing a security program;

Working with vulnerable populations, such as people with developmental disabilities, metal health challenges or substance use disorder;
