Job Announcement


The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department Chandler Museum Division is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team asa Museum Storytelling Coordinator. This is a full-time position with benefits.The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Once past probation, theremaybe an opportunity to work remotely occasionally.

The Chandler Museum is a cultural destination unlike any other with engaging, community-focused programs and forums, as well as world-class traveling exhibits. The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department showcases destination drivers in Chandler through the Chandler Center for the Arts, Chandler Museum, Downtown, Public Art, Special Events, and Vision Gallery.


Who We Are Looking For


The ideal candidate will have a background using museum collections (objects, photographs, archival sources, oral histories, and research) to craft community stories and interpretations. Our new team member will have a passion in sharing diverse perspectives to create stories that help the community understand its past and how that past shapes the present. In addition, our new team member will have a passion for teamwork and customer service.


Minimum Qualifications


A Bachelor's Degree in Museum Studies, Social Science, Public History or related field; and three (3) years of experience in collections management within a museum setting; and a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.


Desired Qualifications


  • Master's Degree in Museum Studies, History, Communication Studies, Social Science, Anthropology, Public History, or related field.

The position available is regular full-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.


The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment MVRRS (Motor Vehicle Record Request System) check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
