Overview Mental Health Specialists are professionals who provide mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. They work with clients to identify and address mental health issues, provide counseling, and develop treatment plans. Mental Health Specialists may work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and private practices. Detailed Job Description Mental Health Specialists are responsible for providing mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. They assess clients’ mental health needs, develop treatment plans, and provide counseling and other therapeutic interventions. Mental Health Specialists may also provide crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to other mental health professionals. They may also provide education and support to families and communities. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of mental health issues and treatments
• Ability to assess and diagnose mental health issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop and implement treatment plans
• Knowledge of community resources and referrals

Job Qualifications
• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Licensure or certification in the field of mental health

Job Knowledge
Mental Health Specialists must have a thorough understanding of mental health issues and treatments. They must be able to assess and diagnose mental health issues, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide counseling and other therapeutic interventions. They must also be knowledgeable about community resources and referrals.
Job Experience
Mental Health Specialists must have experience working with individuals, families, and groups. They must also have experience with crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to other mental health professionals.
