Detailed Job Description Mental Health Specialists are responsible for providing mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. They assess clients’ mental health needs, develop treatment plans, and provide counseling and other therapeutic interventions. Mental Health Specialists may also provide crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to other mental health professionals. They may also provide education and support to families and communities. Job Skills Required

Job Qualifications
• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Licensure or certification in the field of mental health

Job Knowledge Mental Health Specialists must have a thorough understanding of mental health issues and treatments. They must be able to assess and diagnose mental health issues, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide counseling and other therapeutic interventions. They must also be knowledgeable about community resources and referrals. Job Experience Mental Health Specialists must have experience working with individuals, families, and groups. They must also have experience with crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to other mental health professionals. Job Responsibilities
