Medical Unit Clerk Jobs in Pennsylvania

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Management staff that is hands-on

Checking unit supplies, anticipating inventory requirements, placing orders, and overseeing receipt of the supplies.

Reporting orders given by the doctor relating to patients' dietary and medication requirements.

Good computer skills with programs, such as MS Office and Google Suite.

Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.

Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding and HIPAA.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Coding certification preferred.

Must maintain current knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations pertaining to medical records.

Direct oversight of Medical Records and Unit Clerk. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.

Must have an understanding of the MDS, Medical Assistance, Medicare, and Supplemental Insurance Programs.

Must be organized and be able to multitask in a busy environment with interruptions.

Previous medical records or other relevant healthcare experience.

Point Click Care experience preferred.

Ensure that active and inactive Point Click Care electronic health records accurately reflect the resident’s condition from admission through discharge.

Ensure compliance of Point Click Care electronic health records.

Protect Point Click Care electronic health records from breaches of confidentiality, unauthorized use, theft, and damage.

Notifies Nurse Manager of problems of a more serious nature.Submits completed paperwork for Nurse Manager’s signature.

Assists Nurse Manager in data collection for departmental projects/research when appropriate.

Accepts reassignment to other units as directed by Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or NAC.

Carries out unit specific duties and other duties as directed by the nurse manager.

Post high school education, which includes computer courses and medical terminology, preferred.

Answers telephones, takes and relays messages promptly, and answers inquiries.
