Medical Scientific Liaison Jobs

Ensures effective administrative management of regional business as well as operational budgets

Records all activities within a customer response management system (e.g. VEEVA) and all expenses within Concur in accordance with FMA procedures.

At least two years’ experience in a health related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment required

Displays business acumen/knowledge based on experiences such as participation in formulary process decisions

Complies with all guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements

BSc. from an accredited institution required, and in addition fulfill one of the following education levels and experience criteria:

Provide disease state education on topics related to SOs as appropriate

Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise through continuous learning and knowledge of the scientific literature

Masters level degree in health sciences with three or more (3+) years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience, or

Other medically qualified licensure (e.g. RPh, Respiratory Therapist) with seven or more (7+) years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience.

Knowledge of regional specific healthcare systems and clinical practices related to patient care – preferred.

Develop strong working relationships in different business settings (e.g. academia, hospitals, managed markets, private practices)

Stay current with scientific knowledge and attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences.

2+ years of MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experience

Territory is MD, DE, NJ, DC ***

Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists and key members of the MDT

Lead peer to peer scientific/medical interactions

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with professional organizations to foster scientific and clinical education

Minimum 1 year of relevant therapeutic and/or clinical experience in neuropsychiatric fields

Minimum 1 year of experience working in pharmaceutical industry

Experience in delivering effective and influential oral presentations

Experience with publishing relevant therapeutic research

Respond to requests for medical information and/or unsolicited questions in a scientific, fair-balanced, compliant manner

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Science Liaison experience

Five years of industry experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company

Flexible work models, including remote work arrangements, where possible

Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key partners, advocacy, and access enablers

Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards

Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal team members

Build, maintain, and manage professional relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) to organize networks at state levels within their designated region

Input of all KEE/HCP interactions in company’s software platform(s) in a timely manner. The minimum requirement is weekly input

Work to pair our KEE/HCP educational and research questions with the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries

Contribute to an efficient organization of medical communication activities for the marketed drug

Execute and support department projects as directed by the Medical Officer.

Ensure competitive and scientific intelligence is communicated to medical and leadership team

Strong broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge as well as excellent presentation and teaching skills REQUIRED

Advanced degree in medical/biosciences (i.e., MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, etc.) with minimum 3 years relevant clinical or therapeutic experience REQUIRED

Minimum 1 year MSL experience with primary emphasis on field based scientific exchange PLUS

Excellent level of experience and confidence speaking about drug information/disease state treatment REQUIRED

Knowledge of pharmaceutical environment and appreciation for Commercial Operations, including Marketing and Sales strategies

BS/BA with at least 10 years of relevant experience focus on clinical practice, clinical research, or relevant oncology training

MD, PharmD, DO, or PhD (with relevant clinical experience)

Five or more years of experience as oncology MSL in solid tumors

Pharmaceutical industry experience or medical liaison experience, with general medicine or infectious disease therapeutics a plus.

Above average computer literacy, including experience with software applications

Maintain expertise in the evolving scientific / therapeutic area and in competitor medicines and vaccines.

Attend and contribute (if required) to medical portion of regional account planning/training sessions

Pharm. D, Ph. D, DNP, or MD (with a medical or clinical focus)

Must live within territory specified

Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities

Ensure employees working in a remote environment comply within the Company health and safety requirements

Ability to adapt communication and management style for differing audiences

Ability to advise others on difficult employee matters including performance management

Identify and implement unmet educational needs for MSL materials

Scientific Acumen: In-depth scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge and experience in the Oncology therapeutic area required

Leverages knowledge of standards of care and Janssen company/investigator sponsored clinical trials and competitor landscape to facilitate external-internal research communication

Exhibits strategic identification of educational gaps and opportunities

Performs all administrative requirements in a timely, accurate and compliant manner (e.g. expense reports, documentation of activities)

The MSL may have other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Demonstrate operational understanding and risk management by ensuring excellence in execution of all governance processes.

Skillfully plans, prioritizes, and executes multiple responsibilities and projects.

Organizes educational meetings or local scientific advisory boards when requested.

Manage a base of 50 stakeholders; developing and maintaining stakeholder engagement tracking database.

Previous pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Previous MSL or Field Medical experience strongly preferred.

Medical/scientific and clinical research knowledge (oncology experience a plus)

Manage the document review process ensuring conflicting and/or ambiguous comments are appropriately addressed while keeping appropriate version control

Advanced communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)

Strong writing skills, including grammar and language

Experience in interacting with cross functional study team members

Participate in scientific communication planning if relevant in coordination with the publication team that is part of medical affairs.

Previous MSL experience is preferred

Proven experience in sales or business development, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.

Product launch experience strongly desired.

Providing clinical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups that are tailored to the specific audience.

Contributing to company success through the gathering of medical insights to inform company strategy and research/data generation initiatives.
