Mechanical Design Associate Jobs

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as design, fashion, or textiles.

1-3 years of experience in design, with experience in fashion design preferred.

Previous people management experience inclusive of direct reports is required.

Previous experience with test equipment and method development, qualification, and validation; optical and mechanical test

Manage external vendors or contractors to deliver subsystems that meet design specification and reliability targets.

Monitors and ensures compliance with internal and external requirements (e.g. compliance with FDA regulations, etc.).

10+ years’ experience in R&D is required.

Previous in depth experience and technical background developing optical systems is required.

Support production of design concept documents, presentations drawings and design details.

Cruise ship newbuild or revitalization project management experience preferred.

Creates presentations and project reports and updates for management review.

Receives guidance and coordination from Sr. Manager on unusual or complex issues.

Stays current in industry trends and innovation through research and market knowledge.

Minimum 3 years design industry experience required.

Knowledge of cruise ship or Hotel F&B operations and development preferred.

Holds self accountable for personal time management and deliverables to meet project schedules and task deadlines.

Must have knowledge and experience with Autodesk Inventor.

Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently as required.

Prepares bill of materials in accordance with GEA standards

Modifies drawings by studying changes, redrawing system, components, and parts.

Maintains database by archiving drawings after issue.

Apply technical expertise and knowledge of basic engineering/scientific concepts and practices to provide multifunctional mechanical engineering design.

Collaborate on the definition of functional requirements and evaluate alternative design concepts consistent with schedule, cost, and material limitation.

Significant technical expertise and knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.

Ability to interpret and translate objectives of job requirements into technical designs or functional concepts.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex assemblies and understand parent-child relationships.

Experience estimating jobs and working with vendors to meet required schedules for construction.
